Both Junior and Senior Infants partake in Aistear. This is a child led, thematic approach to learning.
The framework uses four interconnected themes to describe children’s learning and development: Well-being, Identity and Belonging, Communication and Exploring and Thinking.
During Aistear, children will learn through their play activities. This can consist of role play, creative activities, construction, small world, using toys and more.
Children explore each activity in a small group setting. Some themes we have had fun exploring are: Birthdays, Space, Toyshop, Tidy Towns, Polar Regions etc. Aistear is the highlight of the children’s day!!!!!
